The FacilitiesCoordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe, efficient, andcompliant operation of the industrial manufacturing site. This hands-onposition requires a proactive approach to facilities management, with a strongemphasis on technical oversight, contractor management for specialisedservices, and adherence to stringent industrial safety standards.
What You’ll Do:- Industrial Maintenance & Asset Management:
o Coordinateand oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules for criticalindustrial assets, including but not limited to, cranes, manufacturingmachinery, high voltage electrical systems, HVAC plant, and fire suppressionsystems.
o Respondpromptly to reactive maintenance requests for industrial equipment failures orsite infrastructure issues, diagnosing initial problems and coordinatingappropriate technical resolutions.
o Utilisethe Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system to log, track, and closeout all maintenance work orders, ensuring accurate asset history and compliancerecords are maintained.
o Conductregular site inspections focusing on the operational condition of industrialequipment, infrastructure, and adherence to HSEQ standards within amanufacturing environment.
- Technical Vendor & Contractor Management:
o Source,evaluate, and manage a diverse range of technical contractors and specialistvendors (e.g., electrical, mechanical, HVAC, lifting equipment specialists,fire safety engineers).
o Developdetailed scopes of work for technical services, review and challenge vendorquotes to ensure cost-effectiveness and technical suitability, and manageprocurement processes.
o Overseecontractor performance on-site, ensuring work is completed to agreedspecifications, quality standards, and in strict compliance with site-specificHSEQ procedures, including Permit to Work systems.
o Facilitatecontractor inductions, safety briefings, and ensure all necessary documentation(e.g., RAMS, insurance, certifications) is in place before work commences.
- Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ)Compliance:
o Actas a key point of contact for HSEQ matters related to facilities operations,ensuring all activities comply with UK legislation, clients’ internal policies,and specific industrial site requirements.
o Assistin the development and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)for facilities-related works, particularly those involving high-risk activities(e.g., working at height, confined spaces, electrical work, hot works).
o Supportthe implementation and adherence to Permit to Work (PTW) and Lock Out Tag Out(LOTO) procedures for all maintenance and project activities on site.
o Conductsafety walk-arounds and contribute to HSEQ investigations forfacilities-related incidents, identifying root causes and implementingcorrective actions.
- Operational Support & Project Coordination:
o Liaiseclosely with site operations, production, and engineering teams to minimisedisruption during maintenance activities and support operational continuity.
o Assistin the coordination of minor facilities projects, such as equipmentinstallations, infrastructure upgrades, or energy efficiency initiatives, fromplanning to completion.
o Maintainaccurate records of all facilities documentation, including maintenance logs,service reports, asset registers, technical drawings, and compliancecertificates.
o Managefacilities-related consumables and spares inventory relevant to industrialoperations.

EssentialExperience & Skills:- Proven Practical Experience:
o Minimum of 3years' experience in a facilities or maintenance coordination role,specifically within an industrial, manufacturing, heavy engineering, or similartechnically demanding environment.
o Demonstrableexperience in coordinating maintenance activities (PPM and reactive) forindustrial assets and infrastructure (e.g., plant machinery, electricalsystems, lifting equipment, HVAC).
o Experience inmanaging external contractors and technical vendors, including the ability toreview and challenge quotes, scope of works, and ensure quality delivery.
o Familiarity withand practical application of Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ)procedures common in industrial settings, including Permit to Work (PTW)systems, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), and risk assessments.
o Proficient in theuse of Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) software for managing workorders, asset registers, and scheduling maintenance.
o Ability tounderstand and interpret basic technical drawings, schematics, orspecifications relevant to industrial plant and equipment.
o A foundationalunderstanding of common industrial systems such as electrical distribution,mechanical plant, hydraulics, pneumatics, and HVAC.
o Strongproblem-solving skills with a hands-on and practical approach to identifyingand resolving technical facilities issues.
- Communication & OrganisationalSkills:
o Excellent verbaland written communication skills, capable of liaising effectively withtechnical contractors, site operations personnel, engineering teams, andmanagement.
o Highly organisedwith the ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate complex tasks, andwork effectively under pressure in a dynamic industrial environment.
o Proficient inMicrosoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) with strong data management andreporting capabilities, particularly in Excel for tracking maintenanceschedules and budgets.
- Safety & Compliance Focus:
o A strong personalcommitment to health and safety, with a proactive approach to ensuring a safeworking environment for all.
o Understanding ofUK facilities-related legislation and compliance requirements within anindustrial context.
DesirableQualifications & Attributes:- Relevant technicalqualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4 in a trade, HNC/HND in Engineering,Facilities Management, or a related discipline).
- IOSH ManagingSafely or NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Previousexperience working on a client site in a dedicated facilities role.
- Knowledge ofspecific regulatory requirements pertaining to cranes, forklifts, or highvoltage systems (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, Electricity at Work Regulations).
- Experience withbudget monitoring and cost control for facilities services.
