Electrical Designer

POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is currently seeking a Designer to work in our Facilities Electrical Group in our Boise, Idaho location.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with professional engineers on industrial, federal, and commercial projects. The position entails drafting on facilities projects that include one-line, three-line, schematic, and general arrangement drawings. Drafter responsibilities include utilizing and following specific codes (NEC), reference material, CAD standards, and the ability to use application software effectively with a high level of detail and accuracy. The ability to interpret engineer’s notes and sketches and create detailed working drawings will be necessary. The successful candidate must also be able to multi-task and work under deadlines.

Required Education/Experience

• Associates Degree in Drafting or Electrical Design (or equivalent technical degree)
• 3+ years drafting experience with AutoCAD desired and preference given to candidates who can also operate REVIT
• Microsoft Word and Excel experience
• Good background in mathematics
• Experience working with scales
• Good verbal and written communications skills

Desired Education/Experience

• Knowledge of electrical drawings
• Experience with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
