Job Brief:
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for overseeing and coordinating both hard and soft facilities management services to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned properties. The role involves managing maintenance activities, service providers, and operational standards while ensuring optimal asset performance, customer satisfaction, and adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements. The Facilities Engineer works closely with internal stakeholders, service partners, and vendors to deliver high-quality facilities services across the portfolio.
Job Responsibilities:
Hard Services Management
- Oversee preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, firefighting, and building systems.
- Ensure all hard services are delivered in accordance with statutory requirements, manufacturer recommendations, and best engineering practices.
- Monitor asset performance, breakdown trends, and maintenance records to improve reliability and lifecycle management.
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and certifications with relevant authorities and third-party contractors.
Soft Services Management
- Supervise soft services including cleaning, housekeeping, pest control, landscaping.
- Ensure soft services meet defined service levels, hygiene standards, and customer experience expectations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure service quality and compliance.
Contract & Vendor Management
- Manage and monitor service providers’ performance against SLAs, KPIs, and contractual obligations.
- Review work orders, method statements, risk assessments, and service reports.
- Support cost control initiatives, evaluate quotations, and assist in budget management for facilities services.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with HSE standards, Qatar regulations, and company policies.
- Identify risks, conduct site safety inspections, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Support incident investigations and preventive measures.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare regular operational reports, performance dashboards, and maintenance summaries.
- Coordinate with clients, and internal departments to address issues and ensure service continuity.
- Support project works, minor refurbishments, and handover activities as required.
Job Requirements:
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university (mandatory).
- Valid Qatari driving license (mandatory).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification – added advantage.
- Certified Facilities Manager (CFM) – added advantage.
- BICSc certification – added advantage.
- UPDA/MMUP Engineering License – added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in facilities management, property management, or engineering operations.
- Proven experience overseeing both hard and soft services within commercial, retail, residential, or mixed-use developments.
- Experience in contractor and vendor management within the GCC, preferably Qatar.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems, HVAC, building services, and FM best practices.
- Solid understanding of soft services operations and quality standards.
- Familiarity with CAFM/CMMS systems and maintenance reporting tools.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and coordination skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
