Facilities Maintenance Manager/Service Tech

Alpha Fraternity Management manages business operations and facilities for group housing on college campuses throughout the U.S. AFM's innovative approaches to working with college students and property owners have created a better management model for delivering a safe, quality housing experience.

We have an opportunity for a part-time Facilities Maintenance Manager/Service Tech to oversee our property at Southern Methodist University. Duties include performing walk-through inspections and coordinating cleaning, maintenance, and repairs. Typical duties require 2-5 hours per week with a flexible work schedule. If you can perform any cleaning, maintenance, or repairs, additional hours are available weekly. This is an independent contractor position with a monthly stipend plus occasional hourly work at $35 per hour.

Candidates must be able to communicate well using email and be able to utilize a tablet or smartphone to record information in a property management app.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Conduct monthly inspections of the common areas of the properties and weekly informal visits to the home.
• Perform regular maintenance and repairs, working with the Service Coordinator to obtain quotes for third-party repairs.
• Proactively diagnose buildings’ current and future problems.
• Complete assigned work orders in our software program daily with detailed information on the work performed, materials utilized, labor time expended, photos, receipts, and notes on additional work or follow-up needed.
• Perform work in a professional, complete, and timely manner to keep properties operating efficiently and maintain high levels of tenant satisfaction.
• Generally, be available for urgent or emergencies, which happen about twice a month. Many of these situations can be handled without having to make a trip to the property.

Familiarity with Rent Manger, Yardi or other property management or service order software preferred.

Pay: $35.00 per hour
