Facilities/Maintenance Technician I

Summary of the role

Facilities Management personnel is responsible for the design, plan, construction, and maintenance of facilities changes for plant, office, and production equipment layouts, working toward economy of operation, maximum use of facilities and equipment, and compliance with laws and regulations. Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs. Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion. May have responsibility for establishing and overseeing health and safety standards.

The Facilities Maintenance personnel is responsible for repairs, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of facilities. Performs electrical, painting, and/or carpentry repairs of systems and equipment on company premises. Conducts periodic inspections to determine maintenance work required. Prepares technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures. Maintains all equipment necessary to perform work. Works from blueprints, drawings or rough sketches. Primary emphasis is on performance of a variety of maintenance tasks, rather than a high degree of skill in any particular trade.
