Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operations and administering Taprite's preventative maintenance program. He/she will also oversee general maintenance duties throughout all Taprite facilities, including Tenant areas.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and troubleshoot various types of equipment including, but not limited to air compressors, metal fabrication and CNC equipment.
- Implement, install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and simple electrical systems in accordance with safety standards and OSHA guidelines.
- Document and maintain preventive maintenance plan and processes and TPM (Total Preventative Maintenance) for the facility and equipment.
- Interface with equipment and part manufacturers and service departments to purchase parts and or schedule service.
- Perform precise mechanical adjustments and repairs and dismantle devices to remove and replace defective parts.
- Rebuild mechanical parts and equipment.
- Interface with appropriate production personnel regarding mechanical problems and provide technical assistance as required.
- Detect and report any unusual conditions or defective equipment to the department supervisor.
- Evaluate and make recommendations for machine improvement and upgrades.
- Maintain work logs, work orders, PM logs, equipment reports and corrective action records.
- Follow all safety protocols and act as primary contact for Lock Out Tag Out of equipment.
- Other duties as needed and assigned.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent, preferred
- 5+ years mechanical experience maintaining industrial equipment
- 2+ years’ experience operating powered industrial machinery (forklift, scissor lift, etc), required
- Must be available to work overtime and weekends as required
- Able to work in a safe manner in adherence to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Mechanically inclined with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and accurately troubleshoot/diagnose equipment failures and take corrective action to restore it back to safe operation conditions with minimal downtime.
- Able to read and understand technical equipment manuals and schematics.
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to interface effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Knowledge of AC/DC drives highly desired.
- Basic fabrication skills highly desired.
- Basic computer skills with the ability use Word, Excel and the Internet to research and complete forms, log data, and create policies and documentation to support the maintenance program.
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time as well as bend, stretch, push, pull and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
