POSITION: ILC Facilities Maintenance Technician
SCHEDULE: Sunday–Thursday, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM, with overtime as needed
PAY: Competitive and based on experience, with increases tied to demonstrated skills, growth, and performance
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Performing rough and finish carpentry
- Completing plumbing work ranging from clearing clogged toilets to repairing 24" underground mains
- Pipe fitting and structural iron work
- Welding and fabrication
- Conducting mechanical and electrical repairs on overhead doors, dock levelers, and dock locks
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, structural drawings, and utility prints
- Maintaining and repairing industrial equipment
- Working with underground natural gas lines
- Repairing and maintaining fire protection systems
- Diagnosing malfunctioning equipment such as transformers, motors, and starters
- Servicing refrigeration components, purge units, and replacing related parts
- Troubleshooting and replacing electric motors and pumps
- Diagnosing and repairing cooling towers, chillers, and welded water skids
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and hands‑on abilities
- Plumbing skills and general building/construction knowledge
- Ability to weld and fabricate
- Knowledge of relay logic controls and troubleshooting techniques
- Willingness to learn, take instruction, and adapt to new tasks
- Effective problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work well with others and maintain a team‑oriented mindset
- Understanding of electrical motors and controls
- Ability to properly use a multimeter
- Customer‑focused mindset with the flexibility to work overtime as needed to support business demands
Preferred Experience
Experience in all areas is not required. However, candidates with demonstrated skills or knowledge in the following areas will receive additional consideration:
- Electrical systems
- Plumbing
- General building maintenance
- HVAC systems
- Centrifugal chillers
- Weld water skids
- Heat exchangers
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving abilities
Physical Demands: Physical duties of job will require employees to stand, walk, and use hands to work with tools, controls, and equipment. Employees will be required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
