Respond to work orders, emergency calls, or pages related to dining services maintenance.
Inspect equipment and facilities: 15%
Perform regular inspections and troubleshoot issues to ensure all equipment and facilities are functional and meet required operating standards. Conduct preventative maintenance to extend the lifespan of equipment.
Repair equipment: 40%
Diagnose and repair equipment, including plumbing, electrical, steam, and mechanical systems, to manufacturer’s specifications to ensure continued operation of food services.
Repair facilities: 15%
Maintain food service facilities including flooring, fixtures, and lighting to ensure safety and compliance with building standards and codes.
Construct fixtures and structures: 10%
Support new or revised food service concepts by fabricating, modifying, and installing necessary fixtures and structures, including counters, walls, etc.
Install new appliances and equipment: 10%
Replace obsolete or unrepairable equipment with new appliances and equipment per manufacturer’s specifications.
Clean equipment and facilities: 5%
Ensure cleanliness and safety of facilities and equipment to facilitate inspection and repair.
Support supervisor(s) and other departments, as assigned: 5%
- Ensure timely completion of scheduled or special projects related to dining services maintenance
- Coordinate workloads and projects with other DSS Support Services staff, shops, vendors, contractors, and dining facilities directors and staff to manage workloads and projects efficiently.
- Procure and maintain necessary parts inventory to dining services equipment to support maintenance activities.
- Document maintenance activities and provide status reports related to dining services maintenance.
- Actively participate in departmental programs and projects designed to support the mission and goals of the university, division, and department.
- Additional hours may be required during peak periods.
