Summary
This is the first of three levels in the Facilities Management series.
Incumbents complete maintenance, construction, painting and/or remodeling work as directed. Responsibilities may include making minor repairs; performing routine maintenance; replacing light ballasts; painting; monitoring climate control systems; inspecting equipment; installing equipment; and coordinating repairs with external contractors.
Examples of Duties

Maintains facilities and facility structures which includes making minor repairs, painting assigned areas, replacing light ballasts, monitoring climate control systems, and/or performing related duties.

Coordinates repairs with external contractors as necessary.

Completes a variety of logs, documents, and/or simple reports regarding quantity of materials handled, equipment operations, miles driven, fuel and oil used, and/or other related information; organizes and reviews related bid processes.

Monitors and maintains materials, inventory, and supplies.

May assist with landscape activities, which may include mowing lawns and trimming shrubbery utilizing applicable hand and power tools.

Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

Monitors and maintains Parks and Boat launches.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and two years facilities maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Licensing Requirements
Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement.
Some positions may require EPA Freon Certification

UNIFORM
An employee in this position will be supplied with a uniform, provided by the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury. The employee is responsible for abiding by the Police Jury's Uniform Agreement.

RETIREMENT
Employees are required to participate in the Parochial Employees' Retirement System of La. (Plan A) upon date of employment.
