Job Summary
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and efficiency of the organization’s buildings, infrastructure, and related services. This role includes managing maintenance activities, coordinating with vendors, overseeing housekeeping and security, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Facility Operations & Maintenance
- Oversee daily facility operations, including building maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Ensure all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems are functioning properly.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
2. Vendor & Contract Management
- Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance, housekeeping, pest control, security, and other facility-related services.
- Review contracts and ensure service delivery meets agreed standards.
3. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with fire safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and emergency preparedness drills.
- Maintain all statutory records related to facilities.
4. Space & Asset Management
- Manage office layout planning, seating arrangements, and space utilization.
- Maintain inventory of facility-related assets and equipment.
5. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and manage the facilities budget.
- Track expenses and ensure cost-effective operations.
6. Staff Supervision
- Supervise housekeeping, maintenance, and security teams.
- Provide training and monitor performance.
7. General Administration
- Oversee transportation, cafeteria, stationery, water supply, and other admin services (if applicable).
- Address employee facility-related concerns promptly.
Skills & Qualifications Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience (3–8 years) in facility or operations management.
- Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems efficiently.
Preferred
- Certification in Facility Management (IFMA, FMP, etc.).
- Experience managing multi-site or large facilities.
Work Environment
- Full-time role
- May require weekend/after-hours availability for emergencies
- Fast-paced environment with cross-functional coordination
Remuneration
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience as per industry standards.
