Summary

Coordinate with all Maintenance Technician team and sure facilities are kept in good operating conditions. Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair for of greenhouses. Inspect sites, execute work as necessary, and manage the work of the Facilities team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • General facilities maintenance
  • Lead crew through projects
  • Troubleshoot problems independently or in a team setting
  • Repairs and new projects on buildings and infrastructure
  • May work independently, as part of a team, or as an assistant to a skilled trades person, performing a variety of skilled tasks in the maintenance, alteration and repair of buildings, systems and related facilities and equipment
  • Work on ladders, scaffolding and hydraulic lift
  • Required to comply with Physical Facilities Safety Programs as implemented by supervisor
  • Use required PPE per OSHA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • General mechanical knowledge
  • Greenhouse knowledge preferred
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to follow instructions

Education and/or Experience

  • College degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years physical work experience
  • At least 5 year of work experience in facilities maintenance
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Equipment experience a plus Required:
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Flexible availability for work hours
  • Ability to assess a problem and come up with viable solutions to address problems
  • This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week
  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when the situation calls for it
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment ? Authorized to work in the United States

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand for prolonged periods of time; walk; sit; use hands to inspect, handle, and feel and reach with hands and arms. Ability to use the tools necessary to perform works tasks. The employee must be able to lift, push, pull and/or move up to 15-50 pounds.

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to balance, reach grasp while on a 20’ ladder
  • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly
  • Ability to fit through a manhole cover

  • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present

Travel

May be required to travel between the office and the farm sites on occasion.
