Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the VP, Project Manager, the incumbent is responsible for the general maintenance and upkeep of the Bank’s facilities. Assist with the bank’s courier services as needed and ensure the company vehicle is current on its maintenance schedule.

Principal Responsibilities:

Responsible for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance of the Northwest Community Bank properties in a timely manner. Ensures the buildings are in good repair and free from hazards such as those caused by electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems in need of repair.

Routine duties include, but are not limited to: General building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, HVAC air filters, interior/exterior painting, power washing, moving office furniture, etc. Coordinates bids for outside contractor work and annual budgeting. Oversees larger projects performed by outside contractors to provide access to, and the security of, the branch offices.

Monitors and maintains the facilities supply inventory within budget. Accepts and fulfills the bank’s supply requests as needed.

Supports the bank’s courier with the setup and running of mail machines and performing delivery duties as needed. Confirmation of all mail recipient(s), address labels and the application of proper postage based on package/letter weight, rate charts and any applicable volume discounts.

Maintains required records and reports pertaining to job requirements.

Remains on call for emergencies 24 hours a day.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); 3 to 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Though not required, a certification/license in electrical, plumbing or HVAC would be a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to think on your feet and provide solid solutions to both common and complex problems. Basic knowledge of hand tools and office machinery.
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
  • A valid Driver’s License is required with an acceptable driving record.

Initiative:

Duties are generally prioritized, allowing the incumbent to perform independently, with intermittent close supervision, in conformance with written instructions, established schedules, and pre-determined priorities.

Problems that are not clearly defined by written directives or instructions are reviewed with the supervisor to determine course of action.

Responsibility:

Probable errors are usually detected in succeeding operations and generally confined to a single department. Most work is verified or checked. Corrections involve some form of dual control by others.

Position requires the ability to work effectively with others where some time may be spent exchanging routine operational information. Exposure to personnel of other departments, staff members, or general public. Must be able to communicate in a clear and courteous manner.

The position occasionally works with confidential data where the effect of any disclosure would probably be negligible or where the full impact is not apparent in the routines performed.

Supervision:

This position does not supervise any other employee but does require occasional supervision of bank vendors and contractors.

Position Conditions:

Normal mental/visual demands.

Position involves moderate or occasional exposure to some slightly disagreeable conditions such as noise, vibration, dirty areas or adverse weather.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear.

The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 65 pounds. Occasionally required to move objects weighing more than 65 pounds where the use of a hand-truck to would be necessary.

Position travels /drives to branches and vendors.

Remains on call for emergencies 24 hours a day.
