Facilities Technician

We are currently seeking a Facilities Technician to join our Facilities team. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, functional, and well‑kept environment for our residents, guests, visitors, and staff.

The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance across the Marbridge campus. This includes maintaining building structures, systems, equipment, and grounds. The role involves semi‑skilled work in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and general facilities repair while ensuring a safe and sanitary environment at all times.

Shift Available:

• Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM with every 5th week on call

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience in building facilities and grounds maintenance, including repair of structures, machinery, plumbing, electrical wiring, and fixtures
• HVAC Certification preferred
• One or more years of technical school training in a related field preferred
• Valid Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record required
• Basic mechanical and electrical repair skills
• Basic understanding of construction principles
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices
• Understanding of preventative maintenance principles
• Strong communication skills (oral and written)
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, walking, and standing for extended periods
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces
• Work performed indoors (75%) and outdoors (25%) in various weather conditions
• Ability to work in environments with dust, fumes, or low ventilation while following safety protocols

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly and professionally to maintenance requests
• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs
• Maintain heating, refrigeration, ventilation, and boiler equipment
• Repair and install flooring, doors, cabinets, countertops, blinds, and other interior finishes
• Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical issues (switches, circuits, receptacles, fuses)
• Perform plumbing repairs (clogs, leaks, toilet and sink replacement)
• Conduct carpentry duties including drywall repair, framing, and minor construction
• Assist with grounds upkeep, fencing, gutters, and drainage systems
• Remove bulk trash and maintain boiler, storage, and mechanical rooms
• Maintain a safe environment by following all workplace safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, and supervisors
