Facility Engineer -Junior Level (Department: Facility Management)

Role Summary: Reports to: Facility Manager and accountable to the Operations Director. Responsible for ensuring 100% uptime of all critical systems within the data centre. Ensures compliance with internal KPIs such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE), SLA adherence. Authority: Manage and direct site-level operations personnel including technicians and housekeeping staff. Initiate vendor call-outs, approve maintenance schedules, and escalate incidents to senior management. Allocate resources such as teams, tools, and training for critical activities and audit readiness. Duties & Responsibilities: Lead daily operations of the data centre, ensuring all systems (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire safety) are functioning optimally. Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend asset life. Supervise shift teams and ensure 24/7 coverage. Ensure all staff are qualified and certified for their roles. Manage vendors and ensure scope of work is clearly defined, meeting response times and SLA requirements. Maintain and enforce housekeeping standards to prevent contamination and fire risks. Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis for outages or operational failures. Implement corrective actions and update procedures accordingly. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain a complete reference library of site documentation including As-built drawings, SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, configuration management procedures, load limits and operating set points. Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on system performance, maintenance activities, incident summaries, KPI tracking (uptime %, MTTR, deferred maintenance, etc.). Use BMS/DCIM, Power Monitoring Systems (PMS), and CMMS platforms to monitor infrastructure health, track work orders, analyse trends and performance metrics.
