Your Role:

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the buildings, equipment, and grounds at our waste and recycling facility. This position ensures the site remains safe, clean, and fully operational by performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep on facility systems and infrastructure.

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Inspect and repair facility infrastructure including walls, floors, lighting, fencing, gates, and signage.
  • Assist with maintenance of stationary equipment such as conveyors, balers, compactors, and sorting lines.
  • Conduct minor plumbing, carpentry, painting, and welding repairs as needed.
  • Support operations by promptly responding to maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain safe work areas by ensuring walkways, exits, and emergency systems are functional and clear of hazards.
  • Operate small equipment and power tools in accordance with safety guidelines.
  • Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs or projects.
  • Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment or facility issues to management.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of facility, industrial, or equipment maintenance experience required (waste, recycling, or manufacturing industry preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of carpentry, electrical, and mechanical repair.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
