The Position:

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on airport facilities and equipment. This position involves monitoring, inspecting, and troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, as well as reporting any issues that arise. Timely repairs are a priority to ensure minimal impact on customers. Additionally, this role requires availability for on-call support.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducting visual inspections throughout the terminal, concourse, stairwells, and other airport buildings to identify potential issues.
  • Diagnosing faulty equipment through observation and testing to maintain optimal performance.
  • Replacing mechanical components, such as electric motors, pumps, and conveyor systems.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints to address repair and maintenance requirements accurately.
  • Entering and managing work orders to track maintenance activities.
  • Assisting in maintaining the Airport Certification Manual and ensuring compliance with FAR Part 139 requirements.
  • Performing related tasks as needed to support overall facility operations.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of modern office practices, equipment, and software applications, along with knowledge of safety procedures, electrical and plumbing systems, construction methods, and FAA regulations, including FAR Part 139 and Part 77. Experience with electric motor and pump replacement, as well as conveyor systems, is essential. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to read and interpret blueprints. The candidate should be highly organized, efficient in time management, and skilled in diagnosing issues and performing necessary repairs. Additionally, they must be able to conduct visual inspections of facilities, identify structural or operational concerns, maintain accurate inspection records, manage supply inventories, and demonstrate proficiency with hand and power tools. Building and maintaining effective working relationships is a key component of this role.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years' experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues;
  • 6 months to 1 year of advanced study in a skilled trade
  • Hands-on experience in plumbing, electrical, and/or mechanical work (less than 1 year required).

Salary and Compensation:

The hiring range for this position is $41,691.46 to $54,198.90 (final salary depends on experience). MKAA offers a very competitive benefits package for this position, including medical/dental/vision benefits, disability/life insurance, vacation leave, sick leave, 401(a) retirement program.
