Facility Maintenance Technician – Queens, NY

Our surgery center is seeking a dependable and professional Facility Maintenance Technician who takes pride in supporting a healthcare environment. This position is based in our Queens facility and plays an important role in maintaining a safe, clean, and well-functioning space for both patients and staff.

As part of the Gramercy team, we are looking for someone who is proactive, works well independently, and values teamwork. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling general maintenance tasks.

Facility Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the daily upkeep and cleanliness of the Surgery Center, along with supporting basic repair needs and inventory organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of clinical and common areas throughout the facility
• Clean and prepare operating rooms, recovery areas, patient changing areas, and pre-operative spaces
• Ensure all common areas, including lobby, restrooms, staff lounge, and hallways, are well maintained
• Assist with restocking general and select medical supplies
• Support operating room setup, including moving and positioning equipment
• Monitor facility conditions and respond promptly to maintenance needs

Schedule
This role follows a rotating schedule with varying weekly hours. Shifts include:

• Opening Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Closing Shift: 10:00 AM until facility closes

Please note: Rotating weekend coverage is required and is a mandatory part of this position.

Work Location
This position is based in our Queens facility and may require travel between multiple locations in Queens and Manhattan as needed. Training will be provided.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and kneeling depending on tasks
• Comfortable working in varied environments, including indoor, outdoor, and confined spaces

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills in English
• High attention to detail and safety awareness
• Basic repair and troubleshooting skills
• Prior experience in maintenance or a related field preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
