Facility Officer

  • Acts as the point of contact for the reporting of all repair and maintenance requirements:
  • Planning and overseeing building work / renovation, advising on energy efficiency and cost-effectiveness,
  • Supervising staffs including maintenance, cleaning and 3rd party workers
  • Examining and commenting on plans for new buildings, alterations or extensions
  • Providing advice about construction safety matters and new building regulations,
  • Making regular inspections of building work at various stages of completion,
  • Advising on cost and time saving measures during construction, without forgoing safety regulations
  • Contract evaluation and recommend changes and Coordinate renewal.
  • Undertakes regular inspections of all the main working areas and staff accommodation to ensure they are well maintained
  • Audit and ensure documentation of Facilities Repair Log
  • Schedule for the preventive maintenance program for HVAC and MEP works.
  • Regular monitoring of chiller and freezer temperature status.
  • Coordinate with Ops team for the rack inspection on a regular interval and make necessary arrangement
  • Liaising with local authorities, planners, surveyors and other professionals
    MEP, HVAC and other facilities maintenance by team and 3rd party are being supervised to maintain standards.
  • Manages the local purchase of all cleaning materials, equipment’s, furniture, fixtures and fittings
  • Coordinates the tendering process for all repair and maintenance.
  • Maintains a list of accredited contractors engaged for work within the Group Logistics facilities
  • Maintain list of machinery/ test equipment for calibration and maintain the calibration certificate.
  • Ensures adherence to health and safety policy and procedures.
  • Ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency of the Facilities and there maintenance.
  • Ensuring CCTV maintenance and new implementation.
  • Engage with Pest control vendors for services.
  • Preparation and maintenance of internal compliance documents related to operations.
  • Must provide equipment-related knowledge and technical guidance to ensure proper work execution to users/team.
  • Responsible for the overall administration and management of staff accommodation in coordination with Admin and H&S Officer
  • As required, advises management on any changes to Local Municipality and Government Regulatory Boards legislation relating to Facilities and Utilities
  • Initial analysis of Tender submissions with respect to technical suitability.
  • Analysis to reduce the facilities maintenance cost without compromising quality/ performance.
  • Analysis on emergency efficiency and cost- effectiveness
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
