Summary:
The Facility Services Technician is responsible for all cleaning activities and light maintenance at the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library and East End Library, as well as back-up/as needed for the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library and quarterly at the Gann Museum. In addition, the technician will complete bag runs between library branches as scheduled.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma, valid Arkansas Driver’s License, commercial housekeeping experience and clean driving record are required.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning supplies, procedures, and techniques
- Able to accurately estimate time and materials for assigned cleaning duties
- Ability to perform light maintenance duties
- Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with other library staff
- Requires walking and standing for long periods
- Requires lifting and carrying of up to 40 pounds
- Requires ability to safely drive library vehicle or their own vehicle to and from branches.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains an inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies and requests replenishment supplies
- Vacuums carpets and sweeps and mops hard floors
- Cleans bathrooms as needed and replaces paper products daily
- Dusts and cleans library shelves, blinds, tables, and chairs
- Empties trash and recyclables/transports to pick up zone
- Cleans and disinfects stainless steel water fountains and elevators
- Ensures meeting room and board room are clean and in good condition
- Waters plants
- Ensure entry ways and circulation desks are clean
- Cleans offices and workrooms by removing trash, dusting, sweeping and/or vacuuming
- Cleans staff breakroom (communal space, not personal dishes, etc.)
- Light cleaning of the Gann Museum when necessary and occasional deep clean
- Light maintenance duties (changing light bulbs, batteries, etc.)
