The opportunity
This role drives the engineering strategy for the Business Unit and Global Product Group while shaping a factory‑specific engineering roadmap in collaboration with the HUB Engineering Manager. It provides strategic oversight across multiple engineering disciplines, ensuring strong governance, efficient budget management, and high‑performance execution. The role ensures smooth delivery of production orders and timely support for quotation requests, directly contributing to operational success. It also leads and develops a multidisciplinary team of electrical, mechanical, and control systems engineers, as well as drafters—fostering a culture rooted in accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous growth.
How you’ll make an impact
Oversee production order execution and provide timely support for quotation requests by optimizing team efficiency and ensuring fast, high‑quality, cost‑effective delivery.
Establish governance and organizational frameworks for the factory engineering team, and lead capacity planning to ensure resources align with current and future project needs.
Manage the engineering budget, monitor financial performance, and optimize resource allocation in line with strategic and operational priorities.
Implement and track engineering KPIs aligned with the HUB framework to drive quality, productivity, and standardization.
Build strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and engage with customers to understand needs, gather feedback, and ensure engineering deliverables meet expectations.
Act as the primary escalation point for engineering issues, define operating guidelines, monitor progress, and address technical challenges proactively. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
Degree in Electrical Engineering; master’s degree preferred.
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in engineering operations, with strong exposure to tendering, order execution, and multi‑project management.
Experience as a senior mechanical/electrical engineer in dry‑type or distribution liquid‑filled transformers, including design reviews with factories and customers, is an advantage.
Hands-on involvement in initiatives such as DtV, StarLiquid technology implementation, GMR (as key user), design tool development, Six Sigma, or factory improvement projects is beneficial.
Knowledge of industry standards and organizations such as IEC, ISO, CIGRE, ASTM, with technical memberships (e.g., Egypt Utility) considered a plus.
Strong leadership abilities to develop and guide multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Fluency in Arabic and English; additional languages are an advantage.
