Job Overview

The Factory In-Charge & Estimator will oversee end-to-end factory operations and lead the estimation process for FF&E projects. The role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, production planning, and cost estimation, supported by a background in civil engineering to accurately interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and site requirements. The candidate will ensure efficient production, quality output, timely delivery, and accurate pricing for bids and tenders.

1. Factory Operations Management

  • Supervise daily factory operations including production planning, scheduling, and workflow management.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors, carpenters, machinists, polishers, and other staffs.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
  • Monitor production progress to meet quality standards and delivery deadlines.
  • Implement safety protocols, housekeeping, and preventive maintenance routines.

2. Estimation & Costing

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for custom furniture, joinery works.
  • Review architectural drawings, ID drawings, specifications, and BOQs to extract material quantities and technical requirements.
  • Calculate material, labor, machinery, and overhead costs.
  • Prepare cost breakdowns, tender submissions, and technical clarifications.
  • Coordinate with procurement to get market rates and vendor quotations.

3. Technical & Engineering Coordination

  • Provide technical guidance to production teams based on civil engineering and joinery principles.
  • Ensure all FF&E designs are feasible for manufacturing and compliant with project specifications.
  • Identify technical discrepancies in drawings and coordinate with architects, ID consultants, and clients for resolution.
  • Support prototype development and shop drawing reviews.

4. Quality Control & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality standards for joinery, upholstery, polishing, and finishes.
  • Conduct inspections during and after production.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, industry codes, and project-specific guidelines.

5. Resource & Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials such as timber, boards, veneers, hardware, fabrics, and finishes.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely material availability.
  • Reduce waste through efficient planning and material optimization.

6. Reporting & Documentation

  • Maintain production reports, daily progress logs, and factory KPIs.
  • Prepare cost comparison sheets, material consumption reports, and project cost summaries.
  • Support management with strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience in Joinery industry is mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED7,000.00 per month
