Job Summary

The Production Manager / Factory Manager will be responsible for end-to-end factory operations, overseeing large-scale woodwork production, managing a workforce of 200+ employees, ensuring quality, efficiency, timelines, cost control, and compliance with modern design trends and technical drawings. This role demands strong leadership, advanced technical knowledge, and deep expertise in production planning, drawings, software, and execution of high-end interior and furniture projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production & Factory Operations

• Lead and manage complete factory operations including cutting, CNC, edge banding, polishing, finishing, assembly, and dispatch
• Plan and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production targets aligned with project timelines
• Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all production stages
• Reduce wastage, rework, and downtime through efficient planning and supervision

2. Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead, supervise, and motivate a workforce of 200+ staff, including supervisors, machine operators, craftsmen, polishers, and helpers
• Assign responsibilities and monitor performance of production supervisors and line managers
• Conduct training sessions for skill enhancement, safety compliance, and quality improvement
• Enforce discipline, attendance, productivity standards, and workplace ethics

3. Technical Drawings & Design Coordination

• Strong command over shop drawings, production drawings, and detailed joinery drawings
• Review, verify, and approve drawings before production execution
• Coordinate closely with design, sales, and site teams to ensure drawing accuracy and feasibility
• Identify design risks and propose cost-effective, production-friendly solutions
• Ensure drawings reflect latest international woodwork and interior design standards

4. Software & Technology Expertise

• Proficient in industry-relevant software such as:
• AutoCAD (Advanced)
• Cabinet Vision / TopSolid / KD Max / SketchUp (preferred)
• CNC machine programming and nesting software
• Ability to translate drawings into machine-ready production data
• Ensure proper documentation, BOQs, cutting lists, and material breakdowns

5. Quality Control & Compliance

• Establish and maintain strict quality control benchmarks at every production stage
• Ensure final products meet design intent, durability, finish, and client expectations
• Conduct regular inspections and quality audits
• Resolve production defects, non-conformance issues, and corrective actions

6. Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Plan and monitor procurement of wood, boards, laminates, hardware, accessories, and finishes
• Control inventory levels and avoid shortages or overstocking
• Coordinate with procurement and stores for timely material availability
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and preservation of raw materials

7. Cost Control & Efficiency

• Monitor production costs and suggest improvements to increase margins
• Optimize cutting plans and reduce material wastage
• Manage overtime, machine usage, and resource allocation efficiently
• Prepare production reports, efficiency metrics, and cost analysis

8. Design Trends & Market Awareness

• Stay updated with latest woodwork, furniture, kitchen, and wardrobe design trends
• Implement modern finishes, materials, and production techniques
• Suggest innovative solutions aligned with international standards and client expectations

9. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with factory safety standards, labor laws, and company policies
• Implement safety protocols for machinery, tools, and workplace environment
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe factory setup

Required Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Furniture Design, Wood Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Interior Design, or equivalent practical experience
• Extensive hands-on experience may substitute formal education
