The Faculty Load Compensation Analyst advances Liberty University’s mission of Training Champions for Christ by regular delivery and direction of the essential services of academic related functions in Human Resources. The Faculty Load Compensation Analyst manages and coordinates the data, processes, communication, and policies involved in delivering administrative and operational services for academic units. Regular and ongoing duties involve administering faculty load and pay processes for one or more campuses to ensure correct and timely faculty compensation in accordance with HR’s payroll processes. This position also entails advising Deans and administrators with reference to course load, faculty contract fulfillment and other stipends payments. The Faculty Load Compensation Analyst will participate in a collaborative work environment, actively contribute to the completion of team goals, and assigned tasks. This role will work under general supervision, completing assignments that are difficult in nature, and requires high levels of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Academic Data Management:

  • Track faculty load and prepare compensation for contract overload, adjunct load, and other stipends.
  • Prepare basic reports on contracted load, overload, and non-load academic assignments to support administrative decisions.
  • Manage faculty record data and the processes for updating and validating information.

Academic Process Management:

  • Work with ADS to coordinate the development and maintenance of tools to manage academic processes, providing documentation and training for end-users.
  • Manage the processes for issuing, renewing, and tracking the fulfillment of faculty contracts, ensuring accuracy of faculty contract records.
  • Prepare (and promote adherence to) the academic operational calendar and pay schedules while coordinating with the academic calendar and Dean planning.

Academic Planning and Policy:

  • Review, maintain, and suggest improvements for consistent standards and mechanisms for academic compensation. Aiming to reduce the number of exceptions and complexities across the academic units.

Academic Efficiency and Optimization:

  • Always, in all places, with all processes, drive efficiency and optimization of academic processes needed to Train Champions for Christ.

Academic Communication:

  • Receive, troubleshoot, and appropriately route inquiries about academic processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Strictly adheres to Liberty University policies, representing the University in an exemplary manner. Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not supervise any employees or student workers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CREDENTIALS

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
  • 3+ years of related experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with a demonstrated ability to create structured tables.
  • Ability to attain an understanding of all technical systems that support the Faculty Load team.

  • May be required to sit to perform deskwork or type on a keyboard.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, and climb stairs to move about the campus.
  • Handle materials, reach overhead, kneel or stoop in order to conduct business.
  • Regularly lift 10 or fewer pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work Environment

The working environment in which one will typically perform the essential functions of this position is a climate-controlled setting. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate. Working environment also includes facilitation of events outdoors occasionally.

Driving Requirements

Use of one’s personal vehicle (or LU vehicles) is required for travel in the performance of the essential functions of this position. Proof of a valid Virginia driver’s license, an acceptable DMV record, and liability insurance is required.
