Faculty Member in Biology - Preparatory Year

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and engaging Biology Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. The role focuses on delivering foundational biological sciences to pre medical students, ensuring strong academic grounding and readiness for advanced medical studies.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching & Academic Delivery
  • Deliver Biology lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions for preparatory year students.
  • Simplify complex biological concepts and build strong foundational understanding.
  • Use student-centered teaching methods to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital tools effectively.
  • Prepare and administer assessments using ExamSoft or similar platforms.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports.
• Student Support
  • Provide academic guidance and support to students transitioning into medical education.
  • Identify students at risk and provide timely intervention.
  • Encourage active participation and critical thinking.
• Academic Quality & Compliance
  • Adhere to academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements.
  • Contribute to course development and continuous improvement.
  • Submit course reports and required academic documentation on time.
• Collaboration & Engagement
  • Participate in departmental meetings and academic activities.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to align teaching strategies and curriculum delivery.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Biology or a related field.
• Experience teaching Biology (preferably in preparatory year or foundation programs).
• Strong ability to explain scientific concepts clearly to beginner-level students.
• Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools.
