Overview
Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified English Faculty Member for the Preparatory Year Program. This role focuses on developing students' academic English proficiency, communication skills, and readiness for medical and healthcare studies.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English language courses (reading, writing, listening, speaking) for preparatory year students
- Strengthen students' academic writing, grammar, and communication skills
- Support development of medical and academic terminology
- Apply student-centered teaching methods to enhance engagement
- Utilize LMS (Blackboard) and digital tools effectively
- Prepare and administer assessments (e.g., ExamSoft or equivalent)
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and academic reports
- Provide academic guidance to students with varying English proficiency levels
- Support students in improving communication and study skills
- Identify struggling students and provide targeted support
- Ensure alignment with academic policies, quality standards, and accreditation requirements
- Contribute to course development and continuous improvement
- Submit course reports and academic documentation on time
- Participate in departmental meetings and academic activities
- Collaborate with faculty to ensure consistent curriculum delivery
Qualifications
- Master's in English, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related field
- Experience teaching English (preferably preparatory/foundation programs)
- Strong background in academic English and language instruction
- Familiarity with LMS (Blackboard) and digital teaching tools
