Description

The Computer Science program in the Computer, Electrical and Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Division (https://cemse.kaust.edu.sa) at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) invites applications from outstanding candidates for multiple faculty positions. The recruitment process will prioritize candidates applying for the Assistant Professor position. However, exceptionally qualified candidates may also be considered for Associate Professor positions. The CS program (http://cs.kaust.edu.sa) contributes to addressing the world’s pressing scientific and technological challenges, broadly aligned with the objectives of Saudi Arabia’s VISION 2030. All relevant research areas of Computer Science will be considered, with a primary interest on: Artificial Intelligence (preferably with a focus on generative AI, LLMs, robotics, or agentic AI)and Large Scale High Performance Computing.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach two classes per year and to build and lead a research group of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. Faculty members enjoy secure research funding from KAUST commensurate with their level of experience (similarly to endowed chairs in other peer institutions) and have opportunities for additional funding through several sources provided directly by KAUST, by the RDI Authority (https://www.rdia.gov.sa/index.en.html), and through industry collaborations.
