Human Resources Director

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversees the organization’s staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring process, and onboarding.
  • Ensures job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develops training materials and performance management programs to help ensure employees understand
  • Creates a compensation strategy for all employees based on market research and pay surveys; keeps the strategy up to date. This includes analyzing trends in compensation and benefits.
  • Conducts performance and salary reviews.
  • Oversees, supports and handles staffing issues, such as mediating disputes and directing disciplinary procedures for the Home Office and the communities.
  • Serves as a consultant to advise other managers on human resources issues, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment.
  • Investigates employee issues and conflicts and brings them to resolution Ensures the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Use performance management tools to provide guidance and feedback to team.
  • Ensures all company HR policies are applied consistently and meet State/Federal requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR preferred).
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or director-level role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (federal and state), particularly those relevant to healthcare or residential care settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; able to influence and build trust at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data reporting tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations or remote teams is a plus.
