Summary

The Social Media Director leads Falcon Media's student-driven social media channels, focusing on growing audience and increasing engagement.

Essential Functions

  • Work with Content Directors to ensure flow of content to social channels
  • Works with Falcon Media Manager to align interns' work with objectives
  • Produces and leads production of social-only content
  • Leads engagement with social media audience
  • Leads recruitment efforts
  • Works with other directors to ensure efficient operations
  • Actively participate in weekly leadership meetings
  • Identify promotional and partnership opportunities, e.g. social media trends

Minimum Qualifications

  • One year experience running non-personal social media channel preferred
  • Demonstrated experience creating cross-platform content
  • Demonstrated understanding of working with social media platforms, including scheduling and reporting on analytics
  • Preferred majors: Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Production & Studies, VCT
  • Demonstrated good news judgment and knowledge of the University and community
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Minimum GPA: 2.25

Additional Information

  • This role requires approximately 8 to 10 hours per week during each semester with flexibility to align with academic schedule
  • Stipend: $1,900 annually, intended to support educational learning outcomes.
  • This internship is eligible for academic credit with approval from student's program/college.
