Oakland Hills / Hiller Highlands | Long-Term | Full-Time

Start Date: August 2026 (flexible)

Children: 4.5-year-old son and a 2.5-year-old daughter

Schedule: Monday-Friday/ 12:00PM-7:00PM

Morning household management beginning around 12:00PM transitioning to childcare in the afternoons through approximately 7:00pm, with occasional later evenings and date night coverage

Compensation: $40-42/hour (open to payment method)

Driving: Required; Can provide a vehicle

Warm, busy family in the Oakland Hills is looking for a joyful, professional nanny/family assistant to join them long-term. You’ll help keep the household running smoothly in the mornings and spend afternoons engaging with two delightful kids — a 4.5-year-old son and a 2.5-year-old daughter. The family also has a very friendly husky; Must be comfort around a large dog is important.

Key Responsibilities

• Morning household management: laundry, light tidying, dishes, wiping counters, grocery organization, and running errands
• Prepare and serve the kids’ dinner around 4:00 PM
• Afternoon childcare: school/preschool pickups, park time, play-based activities, and outings
• Reading and early learning support as the children grow (pre-reading, early homework assistance)
• Help with packing, organizing, coordinating summer camps, and occasional travel support
• Optional: Tahoe trips and date-night babysitting
• Comfortable with the family dog and able to assist with occasional dog-related errands

Driving duties may include school/preschool pickup, errands, activity drop-offs, Tahoe trips, and occasional evening driving.

Ideal Candidate

• Reliable, warm, energetic, and able to keep up with two active young children
• Strong English fluency for reading, communication, and school-readiness activities
• Experience with preschool-aged children and safe, engaging activity planning
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
• Comfortable around large dogs
• Able to cook simple, healthy kid-friendly meals
• Willingness to commit long-term and to occasionally adjust schedule for family needs
• CPR/First Aid certification and references preferred; willing to complete background check upon request

Requirements:

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Current vaccinations (including COVID‑19) and ability to pass criminal background check (Trustline)
• Valid license and clean driving record
• Proficiency in English
• Strong references from previous families
• Comfortable around pets (dog)
• Setting boundaries for children.
• Warm, patient, professional, and able to work independently while collaborating with parents
• Strong organizational skills and sound judgment
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification preferred
