Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed physical examinations and medical assessments for patients of all ages, utilizing clinical expertise to diagnose conditions accurately.
- Manage a broad spectrum of health concerns, including acute illnesses, chronic disease management, preventive care, and health promotion.
- Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Athena and meticulously, ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Coordinate with specialists in fields like psychiatry, endocrinology, cardiology, ophthalmology, dermatology, and others to facilitate comprehensive patient care.
- Perform procedures including suturing, ostomy care, basic life support, airway management, and other minor interventions within the scope of family medicine.
- Educate patients on health maintenance strategies, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and preventive screenings such as immunizations and mammography.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in inpatient and outpatient settings to optimize patient outcomes and discharge planning.
Qualifications
- Medical degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice medicine as a Family Doctor or General Practitioner.
- Proven experience in outpatient primary care settings with familiarity in medical office operations and hospital medicine environments.
- Proficiency with EMR systems like Epic or similar electronic health record platforms; experience with medical coding (CPT/ICD) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic radiology, and clinical research methodologies.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures such as suturing, IV infusion, gastric lavage, wound care, and basic diagnostic evaluations confidently.
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations; experience in telehealth is a plus.
- Certifications including Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and relevant specialty training in areas like pediatrics or geriatrics are preferred.
