Family helper

My husband and I are looking for assistance with our small dogs and our home. The main responsibilities for this job include daily dog walking and household chores (Monday through Friday) and occasional house and pet sitting when we travel (which may include weekends). The household chores include such things as laundry, kitchen cleanup, light housekeeping, occasional food preparation, indoor and outdoor plant care, errand running, and other miscellaneous tasks.

The dog is a small rescue dog around 11 years old. He is a terrier mix. He requires a little time to get used to strangers (we think that he may have been abused when he was a puppy), but is charming and friendly once you get to know him.

I am retired (I was a university professor and administrator) and my husband works from home, so the chores include all the things we don’t have time or inclination to do ourselves. We live near Fairview.

The basic requirements for this position are that you are available Monday through Friday for about 2-3 hours per day (ideally starting around 11-1, although flexible start times are possible), like and get along well with dogs, are a nonsmoker, and have a car. Reliability is essential. Availability for dog/house sitting on weekends and vacations is helpful in case we do any traveling.
