TempExperts is seeking a skilled Family Law Paralegal/Legal Assistant to support attorneys in a busy Tampa practice. This hybrid role combines paralegal responsibilities with administrative support, offering an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional experienced in litigation and family law matters.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and edit motions, pleadings, orders, notices, and correspondence.
- File legal documents in state, federal, and appellate courts.
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests, including interrogatories and subpoenas.
- Organize, index, and maintain case files and documents.
- Assist in preparation for depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
- Create trial exhibits, notebooks, and witness subpoenas.
- Proofread and cite-check legal documents.
- Shepardize cases and conduct occasional legal research.
- Maintain attorney calendars and manage deadlines.
- Communicate with clients, experts, and attorneys as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certification, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
- Minimum 3 years of family law paralegal experience.
- Knowledge of family law, civil procedures, and electronic filing systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; working knowledge of Excel and e-discovery.
- Strong communication, drafting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, attention to detail, and strong client service skills.
