Family Nurse Practitioner

Expectations:

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and patient assessments to determine health status and needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication administration, injections, IV infusions, and wound suturing
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions across various specialties such as pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health, and emergency medicine
  • Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing sonography, laboratory testing, and medical imaging techniques like radiography or ultrasound
  • Provide telehealth consultations to extend care access and coordinate follow-up care through electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks
  • Assist with procedures including spinal taps, catheterizations, dermal fillers, esthetic laser treatments, and airway management
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and utilization review to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations while utilizing EMR systems for efficient record keeping

<Requirements>

  • Valid Family Nurse Practitioner license with current certification from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
  • Proven experience in primary care settings with familiarity in internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, or emergency medicine
  • Strong clinical skills including suturing, phlebotomy, venipuncture, and injection administration
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations including children, seniors in assisted living or nursing homes, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Athenahealth; telehealth experience is highly valued
  • Knowledge of CPT coding for billing purposes; familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9) is preferred
  • Critical care experience or hospital/ER background is advantageous; familiarity with ICU or Level I Trauma Center protocols enhances your candidacy
  • Ability to perform triage assessments efficiently in urgent care or outpatient settings; experience with infection control and acute pain management is beneficial
  • Skills in medical imaging techniques like sonography or laboratory specimen processing are a plus
  • Excellent communication skills combined with a proactive approach to patient education and health coaching. Proficient in Spanish is a plus but not a must!
