Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our healthcare team, dedicated to providing comprehensive primary care across diverse patient populations. In this role, you will deliver high-quality medical services, perform detailed patient assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans. Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages, including infants, children, adults, and seniors.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses utilizing evidence-based protocols and clinical judgment.
  • Prescribe medications, including injections and IV infusions, following state and federal regulations while ensuring proper documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks.
  • Perform procedures such as suturing, dermal fillers, Botox or botulinum toxin treatments, spinal taps, catheterizations, and sterile processing techniques.
  • Coordinate care with specialists in areas like gastroenterology, infectious disease care, hospice & palliative medicine, behavioral health, and geriatrics to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Engage in telehealth consultations to expand access to care while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and case management activities to enhance evidence-based practice.
  • Provide patient education on topics like family planning, nutrition, memory care, and post-acute discharge planning.
  • Assist with triage duties in urgent care or emergency room settings, managing acute pain cases and airway management when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate medical documentation using CPT coding for procedures and ICD coding for diagnoses to support utilization review and compliance standards.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation and patient management.
  • Proficiency in performing advanced procedures including suturing, dermal fillers, Botox treatments, spinal taps, catheterization, phlebotomy, and IV insertions.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to accurately assess vital signs and conduct comprehensive physical examinations.
  • Ability to manage complex cases involving acute care scenarios such as ICU experience or Level I/II trauma center background.
  • Skilled in medication administration including injections and IV infusions with aseptic technique adherence.
  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques like sonography or laboratory experience for diagnostic evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education across diverse populations including pediatrics (working with children), senior care (memory/dementia/dementia care), assisted living residents, individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality during all patient interactions and documentation processes.
  • Experience working within hospital medicine settings or outpatient clinics specializing in internal medicine or family practice.
  • Capable of performing triage assessments in urgent care environments while managing acute pain or infectious disease cases effectively.
  • Competence in utilizing various medical coding systems such as ICD-9/10 for accurate billing and documentation purposes. Pay: $75.00 - $85.00 per hour
