Family Nurse Practitioner

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide comprehensive healthcare services within a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, exceptional patient assessment skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality primary care across diverse populations. This role involves managing acute and chronic conditions, performing diagnostic evaluations, and promoting health education to improve patient outcomes. The Family Nurse Practitioner will operate within a dynamic healthcare environment, utilizing advanced EMR systems and adhering to all regulatory standards to ensure optimal patient care.

Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and assess patient conditions across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and administer injections or IV infusions as needed, ensuring compliance with CPT coding standards.
  • Perform diagnostic procedures such as sonography, spinal taps, and catheterizations while maintaining sterile techniques and infection control protocols.
  • Manage acute pain cases, coordinate referrals for specialty care including gastroenterology, cardiology, or behavioral health services, and oversee discharge planning for hospitalized patients.
  • Utilize EMR and EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks to document medical records accurately while ensuring HIPAA compliance.
  • Provide telehealth consultations to expand access to care and support patients in remote or underserved areas.
  • Assist in clinical research initiatives related to nursing practices or disease management strategies.
  • Engage in patient education on topics like family planning, nutrition, memory care, or senior health to promote wellness and disease prevention.

Experience

  • Proven experience working in diverse healthcare settings including hospital medicine, emergency rooms, urgent care clinics, or outpatient clinics.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with medical office software such as Athenahealth or Cerner EMR systems.
  • Critical care experience in ICU or Level I trauma center environments is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with procedures including suturing, dermal fillers, Botox treatments (Botulinum toxin), spinal taps, catheterizations, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques.
  • Background in managing complex cases involving infectious diseases, acute pain management, occupational health issues, or hospice & palliative medicine.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes; familiarity with CPT coding is advantageous.
  • Experience working with special populations such as individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care services.
  • Strong understanding of physiology and anatomy to support comprehensive patient assessments across age groups including pediatrics (toddler care), neonatal units (ventilators), and geriatrics (dementia care). Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
