Responsibilities

This position provides the Agency with a skilled professional responsible for repairing and maintaining all Agency-owned or leased machinery, equipment, and vehicles. The employee will work alongside student workers and must be able to delegate appropriate tasks, supervise their work, and maintain a safe, efficient, and productive work environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Organize shop and machinery storage areas and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Organize, clean , repair, purchase, inventory, and properly use all tools required for assigned work.
  • Diagnose, repair, maintain, operate, and keep all equipment, machinery, and vehicles in clean working order.
  • Keep accurate, organized, and transferable records of all work performed, parts inventories, services completed , and projected service intervals.
  • Communicate with multiple departments within the Agency to ensure adequate supplies of all necessary parts, tools , fluids, oils, consumables, tires, components, and hardware are maintained in sufficient quantities to support daily operations.
  • Work collaboratively with students, teachers, farm staff, maintenance staff, and other personnel on mechanically related tasks as needed.
  • Operate machinery and perform farm-related tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

  • Experience in repairing and maintaining farm machinery and vehicles is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of common agricultural engine types, including diesel, gasoline, two-stroke, four-stroke, and propane systems.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Additional Requirements

  • Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, including motors, components, hoses, and attachments.
  • Welding skills and ability to perform equipment-repair welds.
  • Proficiency with tools, safety equipment, electrical systems, diagnostics, tires, and parts purchasing/cataloging.

Preferred Qualifications

ASE, EETC, or AWS welding certifications preferred.
