We are looking for a skilled Fashion & Sewing Instructor who can teach sewing, pattern making, and fashion design in a clear, practical, and supportive way.

Role overview

The instructor will lead structured sewing and fashion sessions for beginner to intermediate members. This role is suitable for someone with strong technical sewing skills, previous teaching experience, and the ability to guide members step by step.

You should be confident teaching both practical sewing skills and fashion-related topics such as pattern making, garment construction, fabric handling, and design development.

Main responsibilities

• Teach sewing, pattern making, and fashion design sessions to children, teens, and adults.
• Guide members through beginner to intermediate sewing projects.
• Teach safe and correct use of domestic sewing machines.
• Explain sewing techniques clearly, including measuring, cutting, stitching, finishing, and alterations.
• Teach basic pattern reading, pattern drafting, and garment construction.
• Support members with fashion design activities such as moodboards, sketching, fabric selection, and garment planning.
• Prepare session materials, project samples, and teaching demonstrations.
• Maintain a calm, organized, and respectful studio environment.
• Track member progress and give practical feedback during sessions.
• Support coursesindoha with course delivery, project planning, and portfolio-based learning where required.

What you will teach

The role may include teaching:

• Basic hand sewing and machine sewing
• Sewing machine setup, threading, safety, and stitch control
• Measuring, marking, fabric cutting, and seam allowance
• Zippers, pockets, linings, straps, bindings, hemming, and basic alterations
• Pattern reading and basic pattern making
• Garment construction for simple fashion pieces
• Fabric types, fabric handling, pressing, and finishing
• Fashion moodboards, color stories, sketching, and design planning
• Creative sewing projects for kids, teens, and adults

Requirements

• Previous teaching experience is required.
• Strong skills in sewing, garment construction, and finishing.
• Knowledge of pattern making, pattern reading, and basic drafting.
• Ability to teach beginners with patience and clear step-by-step instruction.
• Experience working with kids, teens, or adult beginners is preferred.
• Ability to prepare samples, demonstrations, and structured learning activities.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Must be organized, reliable, and comfortable working in a studio learning environment.
• Must have a portfolio, sample works, or photos of previous sewing/fashion projects.
