Position Title: Food & Beverage Service Supervisor
The Food & Beverage Service Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring smooth restaurant operations by supervising frontline service teams, maintaining service consistency, and delivering memorable guest experiences. This position focuses on operational control, team supervision, and service execution in alignment with hotel standards.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee service activities during assigned shifts to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for service-related matters in the outlet during duty hours.
- Allocate service sections and responsibilities to team members based on business levels.
- Observe guest interactions and proactively intervene to enhance service quality and satisfaction.
- Address guest concerns diplomatically and ensure timely resolution in line with service recovery standards.
- Liaise with culinary, stewarding, and front office teams to support coordinated service delivery.
- Ensure service areas are fully prepared prior to opening and maintained throughout service periods.
- Monitor adherence to service sequences, product knowledge, and standard service etiquette.
- Conduct spot checks on cleanliness, table settings, service equipment, and staff appearance.
- Assist in monitoring staff productivity, punctuality, and discipline during shifts.
- Participate in onboarding, coaching, and skill development of new and existing team members.
- Support cost-awareness initiatives by minimizing wastage and promoting efficient resource usage.
- Ensure correct handling of service equipment, crockery, glassware, and linen.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
- Provide feedback and operational updates to management at the end of each shift.
- Assist in executing themed nights, promotions, private functions, and special guest arrangements.
- Step in to support service staff during peak hours when required.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Minimum experience as a Service Supervisor, Captain, or Senior Service Staff in hospitality.
- Background in a hotel or upscale restaurant environment is preferred.
- Strong ability to lead teams and maintain service discipline.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a service-oriented mindset.
- Sound understanding of food and beverage service flow and guest expectations.
- Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure.
- Awareness of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Good command of spoken English; additional language skills are an asset.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
