Role description:
Arcadis is seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Manager to support our Federal Program. This position is designed for an individual with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction, environmental, remediation, or safety field and is familiar with heavy equipment operation and large-scale remedial/construction activity at Federal facilities. This position can be based anywhere in the U.S. and will require up to 30% travel to project sites throughout the U.S.

Role accountabilities:
As a HSE Manager for the Arcadis Federal Program, responsibilities include management and oversight of site safety and health officers (SSHOs) during the performance of environmental investigations, remediation, and construction activities in accordance with OSHA, Federal client, US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) EM 385 1-1 and Arcadis policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to evaluating risk across the Federal Program and conducting audits accordingly to manage risk; identifying and training SSHOs throughout the Arcadis project staff network; developing and maintaining a digital library of Activity Hazard Analysis forms; and supporting Project Managers with technical assistance, quality checks, regulatory requirements, etc. This role requires the need for strong communication and writing skills and includes leading project H&S kick off/daily meetings; developing and reviewing H&S plans including Arcadis internal Health and Safety Plans (HASPs); Accident Prevention Plans (APPs); Site Safety and Health Plans (SSHPs); Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and other supporting safety documents, as well as assigning H&S plan authors and responding to Response to Comments (RTCs) from the client. A key component of this role will be to perform worker and task observations to identify questionable behaviors and work with teams to develop appropriate solutions to mitigate site hazards. In the event of an incident, the Federal HSE Manager will participate in near misses and incident investigations, including 5Whys, Root Cause Analysis, Learning Team-Why Tree and client incident reporting/investigation requirements (ENG Form 3394).

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $94 944 - $185 616. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
