A Female GP Orthodontist to work under supervision, focused on diagnosing, preventing, and treating dental and facial irregularities, particularly concerning the alignment of teeth and jaws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnosing Orthodontic Issues: Evaluate patients' teeth and jaw structures using X-rays, photographs, and dental records to diagnose alignment and bite issues.
- Treatment Planning: Develop personalized treatment plans to correct bite issues, crooked teeth, or other oral health concerns. This may involve recommending braces, clear aligners, or other orthodontic appliances.
- Braces and Appliances: Apply and adjust braces, retainers, and other devices to straighten teeth or align the jaw.
- Monitoring Progress: Regularly check and adjust braces or aligners to ensure teeth and jaws are moving correctly throughout the treatment process.
- Patient Education: Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and the care of orthodontic appliances to prevent issues during treatment.
- Collaboration: Work with general dentists, oral surgeons, and other specialists to provide comprehensive care, especially when complex issues or surgeries are involved.
- Post-Treatment Care: Provide retainers and post-treatment monitoring to ensure the teeth remain in their new position after treatment is completed.
