The GX Fitness Manager is responsible for overseeing all Group Exercise (GX) programs and instructors, ensuring a high standard of service, class quality, and member satisfaction. This role involves managing the GX schedule, supporting instructors, driving member engagement, and ensuring all classes align with the gym’s standards and goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and manage the Group Exercise schedule to maximize member participation and satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, and supervise GX instructors, ensuring proper certifications and performance standards.
- Conduct regular class observations and provide feedback/coaching to instructors.
- Introduce new fitness programs and trends to keep the GX offerings innovative and engaging.
- Ensure classes are delivered safely and effectively, following industry guidelines.
- Monitor attendance, analyze class performance, and make adjustments based on member feedback and participation.
- Collaborate with the Fitness Manager/Club Manager to align GX programs with overall fitness objectives.
- Organize special GX events, workshops, or promotions to increase engagement.
- Manage GX-related administrative tasks including payroll, schedules, and reports.
- Uphold the brand’s values and ensure an exceptional member experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or related field (preferred).
- Certified Group Exercise Instructor (ACE, AFAA, Les Mills, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in fitness instruction, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of fitness trends and member engagement strategies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
