Female Veterinary Assistant

Our clinic has excellent levels of digitized radiology equipment and well equipped in-house laboratory equipment. This will allow you every opportunity to work up and treat cases to your full potential. You will be working as part of a very qualified and supportive team which includes Veterinarian License holder, surgery and medicine that allows for the opportunity to share knowledge and further develop your skills. Experience: small animal clinic: 2 years

License/Certification: Veterinarian Graduation Certificate

UAE license: *Certificates attested by UAE relevant authorities

Dubai: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work

Responsibilities:

• Assist veterinary surgeons with operations
• Prepare animals for surgery and perform some minor procedures, e.g. suturing wounds and dental hygiene Monitor anesthesia.
• Examine animals and check their health status
• Administer treatments including injections, fluids, and blood transfusions, place IV catheterizations and medicines
• Perform diagnostic tests, e.g. blood sampling, urine analysis and x-rays
• Dress wounds of injured animals
• Maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of the practice
• Handle scared or aggressive animals
• Confidently handle and restrain animals
• Take care of hospitalized cases
• Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including patient monitoring and health checking, feeding, grooming and walking animals
• Advise pet owners on nutrition, preventive healthcare and general care
• Communicate with pet owners, gaining their trust and reassuring them about their animal's treatment
• Educate pet owners on animal health, including vaccinations, worming, flea prevention and appropriate nutrition

*Experience conducting various vaccinations, and health checks on animals

*Knowledge of medical equipment (e.g. X-ray machines) and anesthesia procedures Problem-solving skills

*Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language

*Availability to take evening or weekend shifts in cases of emergency

*Ability to Conduct Mobile Veterinary visits at our Veterinary Van *Patience and a love for animals
