Job Summary
The Fertility Nurse provides specialized nursing care to patients undergoing fertility treatments. The role involves patient education, coordination of assisted reproductive procedures, medication management, and emotional support throughout the fertility journey, while ensuring compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Assist physicians during fertility procedures such as IVF, IUI, egg retrieval, and embryo transfer
- Administer fertility medications including injections and infusions as prescribed
- Monitor patients during treatment cycles and report any complications or adverse reactions
- Perform ultrasound assistance and hormone monitoring as per protocol
- Prepare patients pre- and post-procedure and provide recovery care
Patient Education & Support
- Educate patients on fertility treatment plans, medication administration, and side effects
- Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and couples throughout treatment
- Answer patient queries and ensure clear communication regarding procedures and outcomes
Care Coordination
- Coordinate treatment schedules, appointments, and follow-up visits
- Liaise with laboratory staff, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and documentation
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety standards, and ethical guidelines
- Comply with regulatory, licensing, and accreditation requirements
- Participate in quality improvement and audit activities
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Nursing
- Valid Nursing License / Eligibility for local licensing
- Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience
- Prior experience in Fertility / IVF / Reproductive Health preferred
