MISSION (Purpose of the Role)
The FF&E Designer/Coordinator is responsible for developing, sourcing, and executing all Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment requirements across H2R Design’s interior design projects. This role ensures that all FF&E selections support the project’s creative direction, functional needs, budget, and overall design integrity. The FF&E Designer works closely with senior designers, procurement, suppliers, and clients to deliver exceptional, well-curated spaces aligned with H2R’s design ethos.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES1. FF&E Design & Development
- Develop and curate FF&E concepts aligned with overall project narratives and design strategies.
- Prepare detailed FF&E presentations, mood boards, concept boards, and selection sheets.
- Specify furniture, lighting, artwork, accessories, fabrics, and materials that meet functional, aesthetic, and quality requirements.
- Ensure all FF&E selections align with budget, sustainability standards, and client expectations.
2. Sourcing & Vendor Coordination
- Establish and maintain relationships with local and international suppliers, artisans, manufacturers, and fabricators.
- Source new materials, innovative products, and emerging trends relevant to H2R’s design direction.
- Obtain samples, quotations, and technical information for all FF&E items.
- Attend supplier meetings, showrooms, and trade fairs on behalf of the company.
3. Documentation & Technical Coordination
- Produce comprehensive FF&E schedules, specification sheets, and BOQs.
- Collaborate with the design team to integrate FF&E with architectural, MEP, and interior details.
- Review shop drawings, prototypes, finish samples, and mock-ups for approval.
- Ensure all FF&E documentation is accurate, organized, and up-to-date throughout all project phases.
4. Project Support & Implementation
- Assist with procurement coordination, logistics planning, and delivery timelines in collaboration with purchasing teams and project managers.
- Conduct site visits to monitor installations, ensure correct placement, and verify quality.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and the design team.
- Ensure all FF&E items meet design intent, safety standards, and client needs.
5. Budgeting & Quality Control
- Prepare cost estimates for FF&E packages and identify value-engineering alternatives when needed.
- Track budgets, lead times, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Uphold H2R Design’s quality standards and ensure all selected pieces are durable, functional, and aligned with project requirements.
6. Collaboration & Cross-Discipline Integration
- Work closely with interior designers, 3D artists, project managers, and procurement teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.
- Attend internal design meetings, client presentations, and coordination sessions to represent FF&E requirements effectively.
- Support the creation of brand-aligned FF&E guidelines for recurring clients and multi-branch concepts.
7. Trend & Material Research
- Stay updated on new FF&E trends, suppliers, sustainable materials, and manufacturing technologies.
- Maintain and curate the H2R materials library to keep it fresh, organized, and relevant.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Furniture Design, or related field.
- 2–5 years’ experience in FF&E design within hospitality, commercial, F&B, or residential sectors.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing markets, materials, furniture construction, upholstery, lighting, and accessories.
- Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, AutoCAD, and Excel.
- Strong eye for design, composition, color, and materiality.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and vendor communication simultaneously.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
