Fiber Optic Cabling & Splicing Technician (UK Project)

We are hiring experienced Fiber Optic Cabling & Splicing Technicians for our UK fiber network project.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in FTTX, OFC installation, splicing, and testing, with the ability to manage field work independently and supervise small teams when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform and supervise termination and splicing of SM and Ribbon Fiber Optic Cables (48F to 1000F).
• Conduct testing and troubleshooting using OTDR, power meter, laser source, and talk set.
• Execute OFC cable laying, rodding, and roping for various capacities (12F–1000F).
• Carry out cable preparation, fusion splicing, testing, and ODF installation.
• Ensure proper labelling, documentation, and configuration diagrams for all work performed.
• Manage MDF/IDF equipment, ensuring all patch cords are properly dressed and labelled.
• Inspect and maintain fiber routes and joint enclosures for preventive maintenance.
• Handle installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of all fiber optic systems on site.
• Measure signal strength to verify performance standards.
• Maintain safety standards, neat cabling, and site cleanliness at all times.
• Capable of working at heights and in confined spaces when required.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in FTTX projects and OSP Operations environments.
• Proficient in fusion splicing, ribbon fiber, and loose tube cables.
• Familiarity with fiber optic test equipment (OTDR, VFL, Power Meter).
• Ability to read and interpret fiber network diagrams and layouts.
• Good understanding of single-mode and multi-mode fibers.
• Experience with vendor-specific splicing machines and techniques.
• Strong documentation and reporting skills.
• Physically fit to climb poles and perform site work safely.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
