Field Density Testing Technician

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Field Density Test Technician to perform on-site soil, aggregate, and asphalt density testing for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with nuclear density gauges, compaction testing methods, and construction quality control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform field density and moisture testing on soils, base materials, and asphalt using a nuclear density gauge or sand cone method
• Conduct proctor tests, moisture content testing, and related QC field sampling
• Record, interpret, and report test results in accordance with project specifications and industry standards
• Verify material compaction meets required specifications before construction progresses
• Communicate results to project managers, contractors, and supervisors
• Calibrate, maintain, and ensure safe handling of testing equipment
• Complete daily reports, logs, and documentation accurately
• Follow all safety protocols, especially those related to nuclear gauge operation and transportation
