Field Engineer

Job Description:

To assess, plan, and supervise structural interventions in vulnerable schools to mitigate flood risks and ensure MHM-inclusive WASH facilities. The role ensures quality engineering support for safe learning environments and contributes to the technical execution of early warning mechanisms and retrofitting works.

Main Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments of vulnerable school infrastructure for pre monsoon/flood risks.
• Develop retrofitting plans for school buildings and WASH facilities, ensuring flood-resilience and MHM inclusivity.
• Supervise repair and retrofitting work on-site, ensuring safety and quality standards.
• Work closely with school management, contractors, and local authorities during implementation.
• Support in identifying safe evacuation routes and secure infrastructure points in schools.
• Prepare engineering estimates, BOQs, and technical documentation for interventions.
• Ensure compliance with DRR standards and climate-resilient infrastructure guidelines.
• Assist in the design and implementation of early warning systems infrastructure.
• Document progress and provide regular updates and reports to the Project Manager.

• Master preferably in sociology or any discipline of social sciences.
• Comprehensive knowledge of program management in Sindh Province.
• Excellent typing and analytical skills
• Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills in English
• 3 Years (At least 3 years of work experience in social/development sector)
• The position is only open for residents of Sindh and preference will be given to local candidates
