About Us
Byonyks Pvt. Ltd. is a medical devices company developing and supporting Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD) systems for patients and healthcare providers. The Field Engineering team plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and effective operation of APD cyclers in hospitals, clinics, and patient homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide field and office-level technical support for APD cyclers deployed at hospitals and patient homes.
- Deliver APD cycler services to patients in coordination with nursing staff and medical teams.
- Assist the Lead Field Engineering in troubleshooting machines at the office, hospitals, and patient locations.
- Perform machine test runs and extract operational data to support root cause analysis.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis of issues related to:
– Electro-mechanical components
– Electrical power setup
– Software functionality
– Dialysate sets and disposable components
– Weight scale platform
– Display and control modules
- Prepare and update user guides and troubleshooting documentation for APD machines.
- Perform functional testing and validation of machines prior to deployment or redeployment.
- Conduct physical and visual inspections (internal and external) of APD cyclers and compile Quality Control (QC) reports for each unit released from the factory or advanced to the doctor’s pool.
- Maintain and upgrade APD cyclers according to approved protocols and configurations.
- Assist engineers in troubleshooting and evaluation of disposable sets.
- Support R&D activities and technical tasks assigned by the Lead System Engineer.
- Guide patients and attendants during visits regarding device operation and basic handling (as per approved instructions).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in field engineering, medical devices, or electro-mechanical systems.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform structured root cause analysis using test data and observations.
- Basic understanding of electro-mechanical systems and electrical components.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills for interaction with patients, doctors, and internal teams.
- Willingness to work in both field and office environments.
Preferred
- Experience or familiarity with APD / PD (Peritoneal Dialysis) systems.
- Basic knowledge of SolidWorks or similar engineering design tools.
- Experience in quality inspections, testing, or service documentation.
- Exposure to medical device service protocols and safety practices.
