Field Engineer / Fiber Optic Technician (Rider-Based)

JOB TITLE: Field Engineer / Fiber Optic Technician (Rider-Based)

We are looking for a Field Engineer / Fiber Optic Technician who will be responsible for on-site installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fiber optic network infrastructure. This role requires frequent field movement; therefore, candidates who work as riders and possess hands-on knowledge of fiber optics and ISP field operations are encouraged to apply.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Provide 1st level support to end users;

2. Interact with customers to understand their needs, explain technical issues, and provide basic troubleshooting assistance;

3. Respond to client requests, notifications, and out of service events generated by monitoring tools;

4. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and recommend fixes for connectivity issues including equipment malfunctions, signal problems, and service interruptions;

5. Follow-up with customers to ensure all issues/needs have been resolved/met;

6. To recognize and escalate more difficult problems to Tier II support;

7. To visit POP / Client End for link testing and configuration;

8. To escalate competitive or service-related issues to inside sales team or management when appropriate;

9. To monitor day to day operations of Network Operation Center and provide technical support;

10. Timely maintenance and smooth functioning of communications systems in POP.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

- DAE OR Bachelor's degree

- 01-02 years’ relevant work experience

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

1. Knowledge of TCP/IP, Layer2 and Layer3 devices and general network theory;

2. Understanding of Routing and Switching protocols and of complex transport system hardware and software architectures;

3. Understanding and supporting Networking Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tools;

4. Familiarity with various operating systems and platforms (i.e. Linux, Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 10/11, VMware environment)

5. Knowledge of WIFI Routers / Access Points / MikroTik Routers / Cisco Devices;

6. Knowledge of Fiber Optics (Single / Multi Mode / SFP / Wave Length / Media Converters)

7. Friendly and professional demeanor to build rapport with the customers and address their concerns effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Rs45,000.00 per month
