Location: Remote - Central or East Coast

Travel: up to 50% often on short notice

Position Summary:

The Field Engineer will support the Urology team in Histosonics’ product development efforts, from research and feasibility analysis to new product development in compliance with quality systems and design controls. They will actively support preclinical development, clinical trials, and certification activities, serving as the go-to coordinator with hosting facilities—often on short notice—due to the time-sensitive nature of tissue viability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute tissue testing protocols or methods to ensure repeatability in exvivo tissue testing.
  • Manage exvivo tissue testing logistics (scheduling, training, and equipment) with contracted exvivo tissue procurement vendors, clinical study sites, research partnerships, and histology vendors
  • Document preclinical tissue testing results to maintain traceable test data.
  • Contributes to product development activities, including design outputs, V&V, and engineering builds.
  • Maintains a positive, results-oriented work environment, building partnerships and modeling teamwork, communicating to team members in an open, balanced, and objective manner.
  • Creates / maintains a clean, safe, and effective work environment.
  • Ensures that design documentation is in accordance with Histosonics’ design control system (or external partner’s systems) and that all project deliverables are met.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of clinical or research laboratory experience; preferably in med device
  • Proven experience in complex systems design, engineering, and product development (including commercialization support)
  • Skilled in driving products through verification, validation, and global regulatory submissions
  • Familiar with quality management systems
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; able to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across internal and external teams
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization abilities; driven to complete projects efficiently
  • Willing to travel up to 50% domestically
